Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor can build and edit Elementor pages with real Elementor widgets, on the editor you already use, with undo for every change. Elementor is great for building pages, but small edits add up. Change a button here, fix mobile spacing there, rewrite a section, duplicate a page for a new service. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other AI apps connect straight to your site and work with Elementor’s own widgets, containers and global styles. **Quick answer:** An Elementor MCP server gives AI apps tools to read and edit Elementor layouts. HandyMCP does this on the Elementor editor you already use, with core and addon widgets, without needing the Atomic Editor. Build and edit as many Elementor pages as you need. ## What an Elementor MCP server does MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard AI apps use to call tools. An Elementor MCP server gives the AI tools such as “read this page’s layout”, “update this heading”, “add a pricing section” or “save this whole layout”. You ask in plain words. The AI reads the page, plans the change and saves it in Elementor’s own format. That matters. A page the AI pastes in as raw HTML looks fine once and then becomes hard to edit. Check requirements: WordPress 6.2+, PHP 7.4+, HTTPS and an administrator account. Elementor installed. Elementor Pro is optional. 2. Install HandyMCP using the [install guide](/docs/#install). 3. Open HandyMCP > Connection and copy the server URL. The screen has steps for 20+ apps and a connection check. 4. Add it to your app. In Claude: Settings > Connectors > Add custom connector. A published page is only replaced when you clearly ask. - **Conflict check.** If you edited the page in Elementor after the AI read it, the AI’s save is refused. - **Undo.** The full Elementor layout is saved before every change. Undo one change, a whole task or every change on a page. See [undo AI changes](/undo-ai-changes/). - **Permissions.** Turn tool groups or single tools off, or use read only mode. - **Activity log** of every request and page touched. - **Prompt injection protection.** Page content is treated as data, not instructions. ## Common mistakes and troubleshooting - **Vague prompts.** “Make it better” gives vague results. Name the page, the section and the change. - **Editing in Elementor while the AI works.** The conflict check will refuse the AI’s save. Close the editor or ask the AI to re-read the page. - **Styles not showing.** Ask the AI to regenerate CSS and purge the cache. - **Addon widgets missing.** Check the addon pack is active and the widget is switched on in its settings.
